New super-secret Chinese ballistic-missile Jin-class submarine docked at a Xiaopingdao naval base in China has been discovered by using Google Earth. Here is the image.

If we start imagining how much of vital intelligence information can be discovered in public domain by using tools like Google Earth, we may come to several assumptions:
- gathering intelligence is not a privilege of spooks only, it can be outsourced;
- well structured intelligence gathering assignments can be managed through freelance marketplaces, like Amazon Mechanical Turk, for example
- further development of data mining tools and exponential influx of information into public domain may create absolutely new business forms and opportunities in finding valuable intelligence in web junk
Here is another example of sensitive documents found online, if the word “sensitive” proper describes the leak that can cost lives of U.S. soldiers in Iraq. These are rather deadly sensitive documents.

“And experts said foreign intelligence agencies and terrorists working with al-Qaida likely know where to look.” FFS, you REALLY need to be an expert to know this?
What do you even mean by that: foreigners can only read information if our experts agree that they can?
